Nebraska State Conference is May 4-5

There's still time to plan to attend the annual conference of the Nebraska State Genealogical Society that will be held May 4 - 5, 2012 in Grand Island.

The featured speaker is Laura Prescott. Her sessions are:

  • Timelines: Placing Your Heritage in Historical Perspective
  • Turning Fiction Into Fact
  • Diaries and Journals: Finding and Using These Valuable Resources
  • Spinsters and Widows: Gender Loyalty Within Families
  • The Rest of the Story: Using Manuscripts to Create a Family History
Other speakers will be:
  • Susan Nordstrum - ensembles of life that 11 Nebraska family history genealogists created in their work with objects.
  • Catherine Renschler: images from the Adams County Historical Society glass plate negatives collection.
  • Diane White: the story of the German people from Russia and the migration to the United States.
  • Gary Zabokrtsky: Genealogy: A Trip Back Through Time.
Registration fee for one day is $50/day or both days for $85 (includes lunch both Friday and Saturday).
