My New Web Site

This morning, I am launching my new web site: SusanPetersen.net.

The site will be home-base for my genealogy activities, including my speaking engagements (more to come, I hope!), a genealogy toolbox (my most-used online resources), links to my blogs and copies of my free eBooks (more of those to come as well!).

My site is in its infancy as I continue to tweak things. The site is hosted on Weebly.com. I've created many web sites over the years and this is, by far, the easiest to do! Everything is drag and drop and you don't need to know any coding! I highly recommend the site if you want a web presence for your genealogy hobby.

I'm off to Omaha this morning for the Greater Omaha Genealogical Society spring conference. I'll try to tweet or post some messages on Facebook throughout the day.

  1. Took a peek at the new site and it looks great Susan! I've kept Weebly bookmarked ever since Jenny of Jenny-ology posted about her toolbox being there. Congrats on a good job!

  4. Hi Susan! Your website looks great! The only suggestion I would make is that you go back and make all of your links "open in a new tab" instead of allowing them to navigate away from your site. I know that once I start looking at a website, one thing leads to another and I have to click "back" a gajillion times to get back to where I started. All in all, very nicely done!

  5. You are such a wiz at getting the site up and running. Technology is your thing, and it's nice to have you to learn from.

  6. I love your new website! I have been using my blog sort of as a website, but probably need to have a separate website, so I'll have to take a look at Weebly. Seeing your Genealogy Toolbox inspires me to set up a separate page for one on my blog, which can be migrated to a website later.

  7. Thanks, everyone, for taking time to take a look. I don't have that much time invested in it yet - just wanted to try out Weebly after Thomas talked about it in the webinar.

Jenny - thanks for the reminder on the "open in a new window." I had just done a cut-and-paste from the links on my blog. So THANKS for reminding to get that done! As I said, tweaking, tweaking ....!

Really, I appreciate you all indulging me by taking a look and offering your comments.
